Impact of Plastic Blends on the Gaseous Product Composition from the Co-Pyrolysis Process

The co-pyrolysis of various biomasses mixed with two types plastic waste was investigated in this study. Mixture M1 consisted 30% m/m styrene–butadiene rubber (SBR), 40% polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and polypropylene (PP). M2 PET, PP, acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene copolymer (ABS). SBR, ABS, PP used study were from the automotive industry, while PET originated scrap bottles. Co-pyrolysis performed using wood biomass, agricultural furniture trash. Thermal treatment on samples room temperature to 400 or 600 °C at a heating rate 10 °C/min under N2 flow 3 dm3/min. Based findings experiments, an acceptable found for fixed-bed pyrolysis biomass–plastic mixtures varying ratios, raw materials pyrolyzed same conditions. composition derived gaseous fraction investigated. studies variance analysis revealed that combining biomass had good influence fraction, particularly presence 6.6–7.5% v/v hydrogen lower value 15.11 MJ/m3. This type product has great potential use as replacement coke oven gas metallurgy other applications.
